## A menu written for machines (llms.txt)

Every store and brand publishes llms.txt and llms-full.txt: hours, fulfilment, every category, item and price, as plain text an assistant can read in one fetch.

## Tools an agent can call (MCP server)

A public MCP endpoint on every storefront. Eleven tools: find a location, read and search the menu, check allergens, slots and fulfilment, then build a priced cart.

## Discoverable by any shopping agent (UCP profile)

A Universal Commerce Protocol profile at /.well-known/ucp tells a shopping agent which endpoint sells for which location, and that it supports carts.

## Tools an assistant can call

### Find

- `find_venues` - Which location: by name, city or postcode
- `get_venue_info` - Address, phone, open right now, today's hours

### Read

- `get_menu` - Every category and item, with prices
- `search_menu` - “halloumi wrap”, the way a guest would ask
- `get_item` - Description, dietary tags, allergens

### Plan

- `get_available_fulfillment` - Delivery, collection, in-store, minimum spend
- `get_available_slots` - The slots still free today

### Order

- `create_cart` - A priced cart from menu items
- `get_cart` - Re-priced against the live menu
- `update_cart` - Swap, add, remove
- `cancel_cart` - Throw it away

## Questions

### Do I need to set anything up?

No. Every Storekit storefront already publishes llms.txt, an MCP server and a UCP profile. They read the same menu, hours and stock your guests see, so they are never out of date.

### Can an AI assistant take payment?

Not yet, on purpose. An assistant builds a priced cart, then the guest opens the cart's link and pays on your storefront, with your checkout, your payment provider and your guest data. Agent payments come when the industry rails are ready.

### Which assistants can use it?

Anything that reads the web or speaks MCP: personal agents like Instinct, Muse and Dots, assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini, and the agents built on them. The MCP endpoint needs no key, so any MCP client can connect.

### How do I know it's working?

Links an agent hands a guest are tagged as AI agent traffic, so orders that start in an assistant are attributed. The Guest traffic report shows how often AI assistants read your menu.
