# Connecting Leat

> Create storekit API credentials in Leat, connect your account in the storekit dashboard, choose the Leat shop for each store and switch Leat on.

Connecting takes one set of Leat credentials for your account, then a shop, a default email and the **Enable Leat** toggle on each store. The **Finish setup** checklist shows which store settings are still missing. Allow ten minutes for the first store and a couple for each one after.

## Before You Start

* Leat is a storekit+ feature. If **Leat** is not in your store's integrations list, contact Support.
* You need admin access to your Leat account to create API credentials.
* Each storekit store maps to one Leat shop. Create the shops in Leat first if they do not exist yet.

### Create Credentials in Leat

In Leat, install the **storekit** app from the Leat marketplace. Leat gives you an OAuth **Client Id** and **Client Secret** for storekit — keep both to hand.

<Note>
  Rewards and vouchers also need a set of storekit attributes in your Leat account (**storekit enabled**, **storekit discount type**, **storekit discount value**, **storekit PLU**). Support creates these for you when your connection is set up. If they are missing, contact Support — see [Rewards and Vouchers](/docs/guides/integrations/loyalty/leat/rewards-and-vouchers#before-you-start).
</Note>

## Connect Your Account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Leat for a store">
    In storekit, go to **Stores** → your store → **Settings** → **Integrations** → **Leat**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect your account">
    Click **Connect to Leat**. Paste the credentials from Leat into **Leat Client Id** and **Leat Client Secret** and save. The header confirms the connection.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the shop">
    Open **Rewards at checkout** → **Edit**. Under **Shops**, pick the Leat shop this store's orders should be recorded against. Points earned here are credited to that shop.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Finish the store setup">
    In **Rewards at checkout** → **Edit**, enter a **Default credit calculation email**. Turn on **Enable Leat** in the page header. Use **Finish setup** to check the shop, email and toggle; choose **Fix** next to an incomplete step to open that setting. Click **Save** in the top bar. Signed-in customers now earn points on accepted orders from this store.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  The credentials are saved once for your whole storekit account, but **Enable Leat** is per store and starts off. Repeat the shop and toggle steps on every store you want to run Leat on.
</Warning>

## Set Up Each Additional Store

On each further store, open **Stores** → the store → **Settings** → **Integrations** → **Leat**. The header confirms the account connection. Open **Rewards at checkout** → **Edit** to choose a shop and enter a **Default credit calculation email**, then turn on **Enable Leat** in the header. Use **Finish setup** to check for anything else the store needs, then click **Save** in the top bar.

What a store does depends on its own toggles:

| Store setting | Effect |
| - | - |
| **Enable Leat** on | Signed-in customers earn points on accepted orders, and the earn estimate shows at checkout |
| **Show rewards** on | Customers can see and redeem rewards and vouchers in the basket; set it in **Rewards at checkout** → **Edit** |
| **Enable gift cards** on | Customers can pay with a Leat gift card; set it in **Gift cards & orders** → **Edit** |
| **Enable rewards on Pay at Table** on | Hides rewards and vouchers from the basket so customers redeem them on the bill instead; set it in **Gift cards & orders** → **Edit** → **Show advanced** (gift cards on bills only need **Enable gift cards**) |
| **Enable Leat** off | Nothing, whatever else is switched on |

All the other toggles are covered in [Loyalty Points](/docs/guides/integrations/loyalty/leat/loyalty-points) and [Gift Cards](/docs/guides/integrations/loyalty/leat/gift-cards).

## Disconnect or Change Credentials

Disconnecting removes the saved credentials for the whole account; every store stops talking to Leat until you connect again. Per-store settings (shop, toggles, earn message) are kept. To switch to new credentials, contact Support to disconnect the account, then click **Connect to Leat** and enter the new pair.

<Tip>
  Turning off **Enable Leat** on one store is enough to pause Leat there without affecting the rest of your account.
