Lightspeed Restaurant Starter Kit

Lightspeed Restaurant

(Lightspeed also do a retail offering – don’t get mixed up!)

We would consider Lightspeed Restaurant software mid to top range. That means it includes sophisticated table management, and can accommodate complex billing – e.g. customers moving between the bar and kitchen. A big competitor would be TouchBistro.

Pricing

It starts at £79 per store, which includes one till.

What makes it different?

Lightspeed Restaurant is probably the biggest EPOS system with the most functions before we get into enterprise systems with bespoke prices. It’s designed for restaurants and ideal for complex or multi-site solutions. If you’re not sure whether it would suit you, call us.

Compatibility

Lightspeed Hospitality requires iPads to work (reports can be accessed from any device).  It integrates with iZettle and Barclaycard payments. It can integrate with Xero or QuickBooks. All of the hardware on this page will work with Lightspeed.

Service

Support is available 24/7 from a London office.

Getting started

Lightspeed is fairly user-friendly but all those customisable options mean that if you’re a complex restaurant, it could take a while to set up, so put aside a few hours. To get put in touch, email hello@storekit.com.

Great but has issues

Pros

Ease of use for staff, great for Café use, much help with us to set up and dealing many various issues we have had over the two years. Friendly call centre staff

Cons

Programming needs someone very competent. Some of the phone assistance can be hard to deal with. Time difference with call centre causes issues when there is a problem

Basically a good system but with frustrations at times

Pros

Staff find it easy to use & training is relatively simple with menu & pop ups Can add products on easily & plan ahead with new items Analysis of revenue & figures accessible

Cons

All works fine as long as internet connection stable. Problems with internet sometimes causes havoc with till even though we have a liteserver The add on packages for advanced reporting were a surprise, as we originally were told these were in our licence.

Lots of functionality and potential but some basic things are missing.

Pros

Reporting templates can be set up to allow for quick visibility of specific metrics and revenues. Good for multi-site management tools.

Cons

Poor receipt and refund issuing from head-office and on previous days past. Cannot attain overall multi-site sales by product, only revenue. We cannot download a simple line by line excel data dump of every transaction, as the data is chopped up by Lightspeed for you. This reduces freedom to manipulate sales data as you see fit

Great, modern POS with good enough foundation to easily add functionality.

Pros

Cross-platform, relatively bug-free, straightforward.

Cons

Needs polishing in several areas. Would love to see better dashboard integrationz
