Stream Stock & Availability

Stream pushes availability and stock changes to storekit as they happen, so the online menu reflects what the kitchen can make without waiting for the next menu publish.

Item Availability

When an item, variation or modifier is turned on or off in Stream, Stream sends storekit a location update and storekit sets the matching storekit item Available or unavailable straight away, then clears the menu cache so customers see the change immediately. Turning off a whole item family in Stream turns off all of its variations in storekit; turning the family back on does not — each variation is re-enabled individually as Stream reports it. Unavailable items follow the menu’s Unavailable Product Options setting — greyed out or hidden — as described in Availability & Snoozing.

Stock Counts

Sync Inventory on the Stream Integration page (on by default) controls whether stock counts from Stream are applied to storekit items:

• When Stream sends a stock count for an item or variation, storekit turns on Track Inventory for that item and sets its stock to the count. The item shows as unavailable when the count reaches zero, as with any tracked item.
• When Stream clears the count (sends an empty count for the item), storekit turns Track Inventory off for that item and removes the stored stock.
• Updates that don’t include a stock count leave the item’s inventory untouched.

With Sync Inventory off, stock counts from Stream are ignored, but availability updates still apply. Ask storekit support to change it.

Pausing the Store From Stream

Stream can pause and resume a location, and storekit mirrors it on the store:

• Pause until a time — the store is snoozed until that time. On Stores the store shows Reopens … with the reopening time, and it reopens automatically.
• Pause with no end time — the store is taken offline (Offline on Stores) until Stream resumes it.
• Resume — the store is set back online and any snooze is cleared.

Each change also fires the store’s open/close webhook (with the reason Paused by Stream) if the account has webhooks enabled.

What Stream Does Not Do

• No auto-snooze after a failed order. A Stream order failure marks the order Failed (and emails the store when Stream reports the reason), but the items on it stay available. If an item keeps failing at the POS, turn it off in Stream.
• No order-readiness emails. storekit doesn’t email the store when Stream pauses a location; the change is visible on Stores.
