With winter just around the corner, and the looming energy crisis, it’s more important than ever to ensure our teams are financially stable. As business costs are rising, it may not be viable to do this through traditional pay rises. This is why we built a dedicated storekit feature to allow your staff to accept digital tips.
How digital tips work
We’ve made tipping extremely easy for your customers, your team and you. Tips are enabled via your storekit dashboard (https://dashboard.storekit.com/). Simply go to store settings, then gratuity. You can add suggested tips (%), plus customers can enter custom tips.
How digital tips look
Customers use your digital menus as normal, by adding the food and drinks that they would like to order. They will then be prompted to leave a digital tip at checkout. Customers tip more and more often through their phone, than traditional methods. Our partner restaurants have experienced up to 20% increases in tips as a result of accepting digital tips.
Digital tips vs service charge
For some partners, adding a service charge is an even better option over standard digital tips. By adding a service charge, a tip is automatically added to your customers’ digital orders at checkout. They can remove it from their digital order - but most will leave it. Especially if service has been exceptional, which when ordering through storekit, it always is.

How service charges look
A service charge is simply added onto your customers’ final checkout screen, on your digital menu. As shown below.
