Rewards are what customers spend points on; vouchers are one-off discounts Leat issues to a customer through a promotion. Both are created and managed in Leat. To be redeemable on storekit, each one needs a few storekit attributes telling storekit what discount to apply and to which items. Once set, signed-in customers see them under View rewards and in the basket, and the discount is applied when they redeem.
This page covers discounts. For paying with a prepaid balance, see Gift Cards.

Before You Start

  • Leat is connected, Enable Leat is on in the page header, and Show rewards is on in Rewards at checkout → Edit.
  • You can edit rewards and promotions in Leat.
  • Your Leat account has the storekit attributes. Open any reward in Leat and look for storekit enabled, storekit discount type, storekit discount value and storekit PLU. If they are missing, contact Support — they are created for you as part of the connection and cannot be added from the dashboard.

Set Up a Reward or Voucher

1

Open the reward or promotion in Leat

Create a new reward (or the promotion that issues the voucher), or open an existing one. Make sure it is active in Leat, and for rewards set the points it costs.
2

Turn on storekit enabled

Tick storekit enabled. Rewards and vouchers without this are never shown on storekit, so you can keep in-store-only rewards out of the ordering page.
3

Choose a storekit discount type

Pick the type that matches the offer. The common ones:The full list, including the _multi types that discount every matching product in the basket, is in the Discount Type Reference.
4

Enter the storekit discount value

Enter the percentage or amount as a plain number — 50 for 50%, 3 for £3.00. A percentage of 100 makes the product, category item or modifier free.
5

Add the storekit PLU codes

Skip this for basket discounts. For product, category and modifier types, enter the codes of the menu entries the reward applies to, separated by commas. See Linking rewards to products for which code to use.
6

Save and test

Save in Leat. There is nothing to sync in storekit — the change is live the next time a customer loads your ordering page. Test it as described below.

Example: 50% Off the Order Subtotal

  1. Open the reward in Leat and check it is active.
  2. Tick storekit enabled.
  3. Set storekit discount type to basket_percentage.
  4. Set storekit discount value to 50.
  5. Save, then redeem it with a test customer.

Linking Rewards to Products

A reward that applies to specific products (a free bowl, a discounted side) or a category needs to know which storekit menu entries it covers. You enter those codes in Leat in storekit PLU, separated by commas. For products, storekit matches each code against the first of these identifiers that is set on the product:
  1. PLU — on menus synced from a POS this is filled in by the sync and holds the POS’s own identifier for the item (for Stream it is the Stream item ID, for Toast the item GUID, for Lightspeed the item SKU).
  2. SKU / PLU — the product field of that name in the menu editor.
  3. POS ID — the product field of that name, shown on Comtrex, Centegra and Tissl menus.
  4. Product ID — the read-only identifier at the bottom of the product’s edit panel. See Product ID.
So on a POS-connected menu the code Leat needs is whatever your POS calls the item, not the storekit Product ID. To find it, open the product in the menu editor and read the PLU field (or SKU / PLU if PLU is not shown). For category_* types, enter the category identifier: the Deliverect ID on Deliverect menus, the category’s POS ID on Lightspeed K Series menus, and the storekit category ID otherwise. For modifier_percent_base_single, enter the modifier’s PLU.
Switching POS provider, or re-syncing a menu from a different POS, rewrites the PLU on every product with the new POS’s identifiers. Every Leat product reward still pointing at the old codes stops matching: the reward shows in the list but cannot be redeemed, and nothing tells you or the customer why. Before your first service on the new POS, update storekit PLU on each reward in Leat with the new codes, or send the list to storekit Support and we will do it with you. The same applies whenever a new menu replaces the one the rewards were set up against.

What Customers See

Signed-in customers open View rewards (or see rewards inline in the basket if Show inline rewards in basket is on). Each reward shows one of: Vouchers issued to the customer appear in the same list and redeem the same way. A redeemed reward or voucher shows as Loyalty discount on the order. If the order fails to place, the redemption is reversed so the customer keeps the points or voucher.

Pay at Table

With Enable rewards on Pay at Table on in Gift cards & orders → Edit → Show advanced, a customer paying a bill can sign in and redeem rewards and vouchers against the bill. Basket types take the amount or percentage off the bill total; product and category types match against the items on the bill by the same PLU codes. The customer confirms with This will take £x off your bill before it is applied.

Test a Reward

Use a test customer with an email address you can access. With Enable rewards on Pay at Table on in Gift cards & orders → Edit → Show advanced, rewards are on the bill, not the basket — test on a bill or turn it off first.
  1. In Leat, give the test contact enough points (or issue the voucher).
  2. Sign in on your storekit ordering page with that email.
  3. Add eligible items to the basket and open View rewards.
  4. Redeem the reward and check the discount applies to the right items and amount.
  5. Place the order and confirm the redemption shows in Leat.
For product offers, include paid modifiers and more than one matching product in the basket to confirm the type you chose behaves as expected — see the Discount Type Reference.
